How very Orwellian...
It appears to me, a mere mortal compared to these individuals, that we have progressed in such a way that the corporate giants seem to have more control over foreign policy than our elected representatives. The old saying goes, "Look at America and that's what we'll be in 5 years time" and those words have never spoken with more validity than they do now.
Let's take a look back at the very recent past, the "blind spot" if you will for modern historians, only a few years ago we saw Texas oil-barons having more of a say in what goes on in the middle-east than we did. Asset stripping is irresponsible, immoral and ought to be illegal. One would have thought the establishments of the world would have caught on after the abrupt end to the Cold War and the emergence of some o the richest men the worlds ever seen because of it. So many things have been affected by large deals going to our transatlantic Big Brother instead of looking elsewhere but no, the US would use these deals as political weapons by rising the price paid but for a "small favour" in return. When confronted it will always be said "That's just how we do business over here." and walk away. Other manufacturers for example would lose out for the sake of a short term benefit that will have so much more repercussions in the long term but that doesn't stop the government because by that time in all probability they will be out of power and it will be someone else's problem, a "Faustian effect" if you will.
If a mere member of the public such as I has noticed surely someone higher up has also had concerns over the course the country is taking. But the corporate environment is too large and powerful to be taken on by one voice. I am afraid to say that we may already be past the point of safe return.
The country needs to be defending democracy from all sides and the enemy no longer has a flag nor face.
I leave with a particular saying that will always remain true, "It's one thing to take away democracy, it's that much harder to get rid of the monster you replace it with."

Tax Reasons...
It has come to my attention that almost every question can be answered comprehensibly by the answer "Tax reasons". If someone were to put the question "Why is there a moose in your cupboard?" (heaven forbid as there is actually a moose, a panther, three polish priests and a single cupcake in preparation for an elaborate practical joke and if you think THAT'S strange you should see what's in my bottom drawer) but if someone were to ask then I would reply "For tax reasons" with a knowing look and a touch of the nose. That person would say no more even though they would have no idea how a moose would relieve me of any tax burdens but they would imagine that it does in some way shape or form.
For you see, the subject of tax is such a proverbial jungle no-one really knows who can claim what, when or where. All you can do is lie your way through, avoid difficult questions and generally make yourself look very clever by appearing as if you have outwitted the system.

Pockets
There are too many of them.
I mean seriously, how many pockets do you need?
I only noticed this the other day when I had to actually weigh the pros and cons of each of the 7 pockets on my uniform, as my phone was yet to be placed in one. I mean, it couldn't just go in with my glasses case, that would be terribly unconfortable. And if it went with my money on the other innerbreast (breasts...) pocket then there was the possibility that, on answering a phone call, some of my precious coppers could infact fall get caught amongst my clammy fingers and the phone, resulting in them departing from their home and falling to the ground. Then what would happen if the various raw meats and stain removers I was purchasing, for reasons I am not at liberty to discuss, came to a princly sum of £10.01?! I would have to pay with another fiver and then aquire £4.99 of change, which would most certainly leave no room in my pocket for my phone. So those 2 were out of the question.
There were 3 cantidates left on my blazer, one of which was useless, as putting a phone in an upper pocket is just ridiculous. So now I could put it into either my trouser pockets, which is far easier to get to and more confortable but could easily fall out, or my lower blazer pockets. So it would seem obvious to put it into my blazer pocket, but what if I take my blazer off? I wouldn't take my trousers off with my phone in, as that seems less acceptable in society, and less likely to get a completely unjust slap in the face.
So my dilemma is obvious here. In the end I threw my phone at a passing car and cried for half an hour, but that's besides the point. I think we need to break free from this pocket-centric society that our lives are slowly being corrupted by and free ourselves from their ever tightening grip over our small belongings and drifting hands.
I say limit yourself to only 2 pockets. Oh. But then where is my glasses case go...ok, like maybe 3 or 4, but seriously, no more, that's just silly.
